2023 Annual Inclusion Report

Evolent stands firm behind our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and non-discrimination with our people, through our programs, and alongside our partners.

How we define our DE&I commitment

We endeavor to create a culture where our employees feel valued, respected and empowered to contribute to Evolent’s mission to change the health of the nation. This is our sixth annual inclusion report, reflecting on the company's progress and ongoing commitment to DE&I.

Vice President, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Evolent
A Letter from Naprisha Taylor, Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At Evolent, we recognize that our collective strength lies in our diversity. We believe our commitment to ensuring we have varied perspectives and backgrounds on our teams has allowed us to understand and deliver connected care while seeking to provide innovative solutions. Our commitment to inclusion extends beyond mere representation — it is about seeking to create a culture where every individual feels valued, respected and empowered.

As we work to change the health of the nation by changing the way health care is delivered, we at Evolent are also looking for ways where we can improve our work in the DE&I space. As a company, we have evolved over the years, and it's my honor to share our progress to date in this sixth annual inclusion report. We believe this report demonstrates our unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and non-discriminatory environment within our organization.

While there is still work to do, I’m proud of our progress and our commitment to fostering inclusion throughout our collective work. I invite you to explore this report, learn about our successes, and know that our journey continues.

With hope,

How we deliver on our DE&I commitment

Evolent’s DE&I work is grounded in three pillars:

People

We strive to build an inclusive diverse workforce across all dimensions and celebrate the unique contributions of our employees.

Programs

We aim to create an inclusive employee experience that attracts top-tier talent and values current employees.

Partnerships

We endeavor to integrate DE&I principles into our business practices in pursuit of our ultimate mission.

People

Fostering connections

Our business resource groups

Business resource groups (BRGs) are voluntary employee-led affinity groups that help keep employees connected through shared interests and backgrounds.

We believe our BRGs deepen and broaden enterprise-wide inclusion, foster community across our global and remote-first workplace and help advance marketplace goals. With hundreds of members and numerous corporate events welcoming hundreds of participants, our 12 BRGs seek to make a meaningful impact and are a key strategic and personal resource.

Key 2023 results include:

  • Evolent awarded approximately $10,000 in relief funds to employees in need.

  • Relief funds were used for a variety of unexpected circumstances, ranging from repairs to an employee’s tornado-damaged home to short-term financial assistance for an employee whose spouse was injured and unable to work.

I’m thankful to Evolent for offering such a rewarding benefit as the Personal Impact Day program. This has allowed me to make a real difference for the animals I love." from Donna Coate, Care Manager

Partnerships

Collaborating in the community

Our social impact initiative

Our social impact initiative, Evolent Cares, promotes civic improvement engagements to help the communities where we live, play and work reach their fullest potential. It is a natural extension of Evolent's commitment to improve the lives of people with complex health conditions.

Key 2023 results include:

  • Evolent partnered with nearly 20 organizations to address social determinants of health and essential needs, packed 24,000+ meals for community food banks, and donated approximately $20,000 to support local causes and charities.

  • As part of our Season of Giving campaign, 18 U.S. leaders spearheaded various local impact initiatives including partnering with the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C., Toys for Tots in San Diego, Cradles to Crayons and CountyCare in Chicago, and Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta.

  • Evolent employees in Pune, India, participated in numerous community projects that had a significant impact. As part of their work, they donated 20 artificial limbs for individuals in need and provided beds, wheelchairs and meals to 60 residents of a local senior center.
